Dell sues family of typo-squatters
Dell has filed a legal complaint in the US against websites using misspelled versions of its domain name to attract buyers. The computer manufacturer is asking the district court in Austin, Texas to strip owners Alf, Lars and Kim Temme of the names, as well as awarding damages and legal fees. The family had registered d3ell.com, de3LL.com, d4ell.com, de4ll.com, dedll.com, derll.com and dxell.com using the trading name of Romfab. advertisement Click Here Click Here Dell claims that the names infringe on its registered trademark and are intended to poach sales from unsuspecting customers. The sites use a cookie that redirects internet users to Linkshare and sees any sales commission credited to the three website owners.
